Baumert offers its customers high-performance doors and barrier systems that meet the highest security standards and strictest regulations. They provide maximum protection against all risks: nuclear, biological, explosion, sound, fire, terrorist attack, etc.
The 50 engineers in its research department design over 1,000 technical doors each year, which are built at its Alsace site. Installation and maintenance is handled by the company’s four local offices in France.
Baumert has also developed a specialty range of complementary products: technical partitions, wrapping, technical hatches and radioprotection mats.
Since its foundation, the company has differentiated itself strategically through a core emphasis on innovation and by bidding to manage major international projects.
Safer nuclear power plants
For more than 80 years, Baumer’s technical doors and barriers, primarily intended for nuclear plants, have also been used in research centres, reprocessing plants, sensitive industrial sites (petrochemical and pharmaceutical) and other secure applications. They protect those who work close to the reactors, the local community and the environment.
Baumert is world leader in neutron doors and a global benchmark in specialty high-performance barrier systems (anti-radiation, fireproof, watertight and anti-blast doors) mainly for the French and international nuclear industry.
The company has supplied 90% of the doors installed in the French fleet of 58 reactors and provides regular maintenance from its eight local offices.
It works with all current power station technologies (EPR, AP1000, VVER and ITER) and has a solid international presence. Baumert doors are used in China, the United States, Finland, the Ukraine, the United Kingdom and Turkey.
